What the.....1.8?
Hey guys, here is another post, from another forum. Anyone have any ideas on this?
Hey y'all, I have a question for all you SR20DE people. The SR20DE motor is the only motor that came in G20's from 1991-1995, right? Why on my block does it read SR18?? I suspect that the person that previously owned it dropped that motor in. Is it a straight bolt up? or does it have a whole different tranny, ecu? Is it a better block (I know that's probably a dumb question)? Isn't the only place you can find SR18 motors is in Japan or UK? Wouldn't that be a more expensive motor with less HP? I'm just trying to understand the logic this guy used in dropping in a SR18 block. It looks like the guy was running a NOS dry-manifold system and may have blown the original SR20 motor(weld marks on the firewall where NOS cylanoids were attached, and a patched up perfect circle hole in the stock rubber intake pipe). Also, what kind of motorswap is the best kind for a G20 (SR20DET) ? I need to get rid of that SR18 block and get some real HP going on. Thanks everyone I mean, I know the answers to like, yeah, the SR20 is the only, whats a good swap etc., but the 1.8 thing?  |

In NZ here they come in to the country with 1.8 in both the P10 and P11.
Not sure on the difference but i would say it would only be a difference in the bore/stroke and everything else would be the same.
