you would probably hear the turbo spool up or maybe a blow off valve i dont think the non turbo can go that fast i think it was a gst or gsx.

Not on the older ~93's with the sohc non turbo engine they don't. On the ~98 body style yeah, they all did because the cam sprockets would touch the hood otherwise.

I just found this out the other day myself because my buddy has a sohc eclipse and I asked where his "bubble" was

I was lookin around at DSM stuff and cam across this. Yea this is a mad late reply and will be the only reply I make.
1. DSM's are Domestic Guys...Not Imports
2. Unless his Stang is a p.os. he raced a Turbo DSM. The Non Turbos come w/ some crap engine, not the 4g63 or 4g63T
3. $1,000 will get you 300hp if not more. By simply upgrading the Turbo, getting a FMIC (FrontMount Intercooler), and Changing Exhaust, ou can get in that area easy.

2. DSM plant was based in IL, but it was a joint venture between Mitsu and Chrysler...how many people do you know that call a Mitsu eclipse a domestic?
