Re: SC Vette vs. CL600
Well thats the beauty of a forum. Everyone gets the right to their own opinion and i hate chevy's for a reason if only you knew, but you don't and you most likely don't care why.

Re: SC Vette vs. CL600
i personally like chevy in general. I dont dislike ford motor company. but i do dislike the new mustang. all companies do stupid things. like the chevy cavilier and colbalt...crap IMO. but Chevy's larger engines will run forever. Such as my father had a nastro. 215,000 miles and nothing but a simple engine rebuild at 112,000 just because (it was running fine). sold it still running good. we talked to the guy not to long ago and it now has 300000 and still running good. he is now has another.... it has 150,00 and hasnt had the oil changed wince 110,000 and it hasnt had a single problem. their V8's will run just as long.
but Ford makes good smaller engines. and medium. such as the Ranger and Mazda Bseries engines. they will run for ever. i havent had alot of expernce with dodge but i have heard good things. there isnt a domestic company i dislike and there are very few forigen companies i dislike (kia and hyundia are my two major hates) as far as performance....if it runs good and is fast...i like it....if it looks good, i like it even more. |

If its turbo charged you could tune it down but you just dont DD a car with an engine with those such mods without DD causing you problems. The fastest civic in my area weighs in at 2229 with driver, interior hulled out.. looks like sh!t inside. he uses a t04 garret and H22 prelude engine, his shop has a dyno. He puts 469 to the wheels, runs 11.29 Sure he has the power to weight to run 10.90 but he has to pedal first and second gear because of insane wheel hop. He has broken 4 clutches using slicks on the front. All different name brands trying to find one that can handle it. Not even going to get into how much trouble he has had with cv axles. Point being.. he drives his car fri-sun and for good reason. Oh and the local "king of the streets" is a camero (10.89). He drives it to work everyday, and has half the heartache of the civic owner when it comes to work, reliability, cost, and ability to be a DD. Dont get me wrong I hate cameros and want to take this clowns title but needless to say.. he goes to mcD's in his hot rod much more often than the guy with the civic. post a vid link to a 10.99 honda that you believe to be a DD please |

Re: SC Vette vs. CL600
God damn it. This guy showed up at nopi with his 88 or 89 honda crx he had a fully built b18 gsr motor (it was turbo he ran it at 20psi on the track) and he could run low tens in it. He said he drove it daily. The bottom line is if you spend the money in the right place you can get reliable ten second passes in a dam civic, crx, accord, prelude,or any othre darn car you can name. I saw it while watching tv one night (Nopi Tunervision)

Re: SC Vette vs. CL600
FWD honda that run 10.0 have slicks on the front wheels. The problems with cv axles, rigidity, and wheel hop are overwhelming.
Show a video of a honda without slicks that runs 10's. |
