PORSCHE 924 Turbo (in progress)
Painted in Tamiya's Mica silver spray paint.
still considering whether to paint the red on the body like the box grafix. is it too outdated?? To me, it looks kinda ugly |

That is odd.
I have seen these painted with a two tone break on the belt line though. How is the kit otherwise?

That's an odd-looking two-tone, I've certainly never seen a 1:1 w/that paint scheme. Keep it silver...monochromatic looks better on it.

Re: PORSCHE 924 Turbo (in progress)
What's wrong with putting a dated paint scheme on a dated car? It will both stand out and look period correct. If you're going for a modern custom look, forget it, but if you want to do it up how it was fresh from Germany, than I would say go for it. Doesn't look bad and it is certainly interesting, and apparently prototypical....

Guys, thanks for the fruitful thoughts!!
I may re-consider painting the red section... If I don't, no one will really appreciate it as a rare 924 turbo... But the stock wheels of the kit is like the mesh-type (original). If I put the Carrara C4 (964) wheels on it, will modernize it a bit. How about that?? Overall speaking, the kit is very very simple. flat chassis & moulding kinda POOR, very think and brittle plastic. Straight forward to build, but need some work to make it look like a real car. |

Re: PORSCHE 924 Turbo (in progress)
Nooooooooo...Please, if you are going to use the two tone, paint the hood and the roof too! hehehe
But, besides the odd color combination, it's looking great! Nice job! See'ya Magliano

But if I painted the roof and the hood, it wouldn't look like the original scheme PORSCHE decided. |
