Re: Insane Footage of Apache Helicopters minigun

And remember between every Tracer there are 5 rounds inbetween.

There are 2 firing rates for that gun!

Slow ='s 2000 rounds per minute
fast ='s 4000 rounds per minute!

i was talking to a buddy, he said it was something like one of every 8-10 rounds is a tracer round. and he said that the reason the bullets seem to explode like that is because they're made of depleted unranium. Redneck, Porsche, you know anything about that?

Depleleted uraniumn? Doubt it! Never seen an M-60 round that is depleted uranium (16 years in the Army) and it's every 5th round that is a tracer. Thats the Army standard.

The only DU rounds are on the Apache 30MM for tank killing.

good to know, i'll relay that info his way. if DU rounds are good for tank killing wouldn't they be good for blowing up cars and trucks as seen in the vid? that truck was up in flames, doesn't seem like typical artillary fire would do that.

No, what your seeing is alot or rounds hitting it at once and you never know what they put in them cars to "HELP OUT" the explosion!!

Also the tracers do burn for quite a while and are hotter than hell, i've left a few bruning fields before on the range!
