Re: Progress: The "Jager-meister"

Great progress. I like your attention to the details. Bonnet looks much better now with the wents open.
best regards

Thank you

The vents took me quite a while. Probably 2-3 hours from drilling holes to final clean up with sandpaper. Even with extreme care I managed to break one of the fins...
More progress pictures tomorrow (hopefully).

Thanks for looking.

Started the work on the back. At the beginning I didn't think about doing any detail, but during the build I found myself cutting the trunk lid...

Then I began working on the boot itself. Some plastic card and epoxy putty did the trick:

Thanks for looking.

Re: Progress: The "Jager-meister"

Doing sequence pictures like this make it seem all so easy when we all know that it isn't. Very nice job Pedro, I love this subject and this one is gonna look great.

Are you going to hing the trunk?

Re: Progress: The "Jager-meister"

Hello AJ. Thank you for your comment.

No, I'm not going to hinge the trunk for one simple reason: the real one isn't It is secured by 4 pins, and so is the hood. I'll try to replicate that with the aid of the S27 PE set I'm still waiting for.

Re: Progress: The "Jager-meister"

I only have one ref pic, and it's one from a 1/18 diecast model. Nevertheless, it's better than nothing .

It's the gas tank and some other reservoirs that I can't really tell what they are. Does anyone know what those might be?

Re: Progress: The "Jager-meister"

I remember seeing on a few diecasts that the truck had 2 holes on it, and those black dish-like things were where the holes were. I'm not sure, but I'm gonna take a shot in the dar and say it's for some sort of cooling? breaks or maybe oil? Not too sure on that, but I'm positive the trunk had holes on it.

Re: Progress: The "Jager-meister"

I don't know why some pics work and some don't, even after the traffic limit was exceeded....
I guess too many people got curious

anyway, I apologize for any inconvenience. If you want to see the whole pictures from the building process, please visit my Fotki album.

Best Regards,
Pedro.

That is the Fuel cell with it's two fillers, the dishes under the fillers are to keep fuel spillage out of the trunk. The three units in the trunk are the electric fuel pumps. The silver tank is the oil tank for the dry sump oiling system. This is a typical setup in a road racecar.

Well, some little progress.

This last week I was able to get my hands on the university lathe, so I machined a new set of rims to use with the beautifull S27 PE BBS faces

Much better than stock, he ?

I also managed to photoetch some new rear wing lateral supports from 0.25mm brass sheet. It still needs some cleaning with acetone and some filing. I know it's not S27 quality, but hei, I like it .

Best Regards,
Pedro.
