Re: Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
I used to run that amp and had no problem........ Caps are useless because they add more of a load to the electrical system. You amp draws current..... therefore drawing current from the cap.... therefore drawing MORE current from the electrical system then what just the amp alone would do ad yes it still draws that current VERY fast. SOME (very few) caps with the right ESR rating will do a VERY LITTLE bit to help your electrical system but not much...... if you really wanna do something effective then do this.......... http://forum.sounddomain.com/ubb/ul...ic;f=5;t=007801

Re: Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
no way. Caps store unused power, and then supply it to your amp (faster) when it needs it, instead of making the amp pull the power from the alternator. I've seen systems be improved by a capacitor. The thing about a cap, is that TRUE it wont solve all problems, but thats not what it claims to do. If you have 3 amps with a 40 amp fuse in each, then thats 120 amps. You cant put that on a 120 amp alternator and expect a cap to solve your headlight dimming problem. In that case you need a better alternator, or a different amp setup. But if your amp setup and alternator are compatible, but your amp pulls an insane amount of watts, then a cap can help that. Caps are not useless. They just store and release power that would have otherwise been wasted, therefore easing the load on your alternator.
I know Im no car audio genius, but I know this to be true. Double check your info.

(1)- Fuses have absolutely nothing to do with current draw
(2)- Caps are USELESS WASTES OF MONEY |

Re: Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
dude...... just trust me I know car audio and capacitors are useless..... they are just another load on the alternator..... they don' store much power.... 1 farad capatance is not very much even 40 farads isn't............ quote from www.bcae1.com "This is because there has been some discussion as to whether a capacitor is a help or a hinderence when it comes to keeping the voltage at a higher level than without it. Of course, if you ask someone that's spent more than $100 on a capacitor if it helped, they'll tell you that it has. Why on earth would someone 'fess up' to wasting that much money on 'snake oil'. I've yet to see a capacitor increase the SPL in any system. " I would def. trust this site. I'm not sayin a cap has never helped.... because depending on yor electrical system and current demands one can be of MINIMAL help. It doesn't help dimming it doesn't help give your amp a magical spark of voltage..... If your electrical system is up to par it will slightly fill in gaps in lag of your charging system...... but if your electrical system is up to par then you don't need one........ Question for all you capacitor lovers Why aren't any of the big SPL guys running caps? Go ask loyd lowrey or scottie johnson what they think of caps.

Personally I like to use step-up voltage regulators. Unfortunately they are expensive but it allows you to almost completely isolate the amps from the rest of the car. You can get them to put out consistant 16volts which most amps can benefit from. It was a trick used many years ago to get small amps to put out more power than their 14.4v ratings. I believe these things are not allowed in db sanctioned events.

Re: Bang! Bang! Bang!!!
pretty much if the voltage isn't there from your electrical system a cap isn't gunna make it end of story...... The never ending is a 100 piece of metal useless debate..... yaaaay!
