Tremec's TKO 3550 or 6550

Hey yall im pretty set on buying a tremec 5 spd but im wondering what the difference in the 5th gear numbering and the spline count. the 3550 has either a .64 or .82 final gear choice and a 10 or 20 something slpine count, just wondering what that means and which is the best for a daily driver.

Tremec 3550= stock 10spline clutch, stock output spline cout

Tremec TKO, TKO500/TKO600 26 spline input, 31 spline output.

Both the 3550,TKO can be had in different 5th gear ratio due to road racing versions. These are absolute waste 5ht gears unles your building a road racer. stay with the normal street version.

Not sure about the 600, but the TKO500 can be ordered with a 10 spline input. (they asked if I wanted that when I ordered mine).

You are prob right. I just assumed they eliminated the 10T 28spline set-up of the 3550.

A 3550, TKO, TKO II(road race version), TKO500, TKO600 are all very similiar and share many swapable and same parts.

They eliminated the 28 spl. output, but retained the 10 spl. input option, apparently. I"d bet it's for guys who finally put a good clutch in, then discover very quickly that the slippage was saving their tranny.....
