I Know its a wierd mix but I do need opinions please

Sup PPL Im new to the boards, saw some sick imput on alot of the threads so I figured why not. Im very much into modding cars and I want to get a new car that has potential of being amazing. Take into consideration that money wont be a prob and tell me what Im better off going with...I think I know what Im gonna take but I need some outside opinions. I dont only care about speed, Im going to be moding every aspect of it...Speed, Handling, Looks, Audio...etc. Thanks.

Again, I know its a wierd mix but heres what Im looking at.

Dodge SRT-4

Ford 2005 Mustang GT

ION Redline

2004 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT

2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged

I know some of you will recomend an STI but thats not an option for me...post away

For road racing I would recomend the SRT4, it proved itself quite a bit in this arena and has fool proof factory upgrade paths trough both mopar and ACR. For drag racing the mustang should be the best choice due to the RWD and solid rear axle. I se a lot of claims that the mustang is a good handling car but personally i'm waiting to see how it performs in road racing competitions to find out if that is true or not.

The cobalt SS, and ION have good handling chassis and quite good power levels but they way they are set up its unlikelly they will be able to acheive the same power levels of the stang or srt4 are capable of with easy mods.

Performance wise the eclipse will be at the bottom however its probably the best one fot winning shows.

If I were to mod them through the roof, which would have the highest HP\top speed do you think? Between the Stang and the SRT that is. Ill be doing a mix of shows, street races and drags so im having a hard time deciding.. Any car I get though will be tricked out so much vissualy too it wont look like the same car hehe. Oh...I live in Montreal atm, ill be moving to the states soon though. But for now I have to deal with winter too (where im moving I wont have snow for quite a few miles, probably florida or la...deciding atm.)...so I know the stang loses out there a bit.

well as far as top speed goes the srt4 are suposed to be limited at 155 although many took it to ~165, not sure if its limited there due to gearing or aerodinamics. The mustang will probably have a pretty high top speed too although eyeballing it it seems like the stang should have a higher CD than the srt4 (don't take this as fact as I said its only an impression due to the large frontal aread of the stang)

be carefull with top speed runs though if you plan numerous body modifications. Stock cars went trough many hours of wind tunnel testing and if you change the exterior you might create lift.

If your gonna mod the hell out of it the Mustang is gonna be the best choice just because it has more aftermarket support in every area road racing, drag racing, looks, whateva than any of the others.

Even the 05!!! it' s a totally new platform look how many parts our out for them already due to Ford releasing the car early to aftermarket manufacturer's. And every day there is just more coming, with companies just begging to get you hard earned dollars.

Thats a good point man, thanks. I am kind of leaning for the Stang but I have one HUGE problem with it. I want to eventually put one of those insane paint jobs onto the car I mod out...Stangs dont usually have that done to them its usually just some stripes or something. Even though I really dont care what others think Im not sure how it would look once its on..While on the other hand, the SRT-4 is alot more of a japanese looking car. And can obviously benefit from one of those 6 thousand dollar jobs, you know the ones I mean.
