long drive

My automotive instructor at school told me wear on engine stops once the car has warmed up. Sooo....does that mean i can go on a 2hr journey in my Z to a diff. city without wear to the engine?(say my z32 is in "ok" condition that is) Ive also heard that HIGHWAY miles are better than around town miles. for ex.- 2000(model caR) 120k(all highway miles) is better than a 60k(grocery store drive every once in a while) car?

... Who do you think would know better... An automotive instructor... Or a bunch of Zed Heads?

A question that we would be better able to answer, would be a question like 'I cant get my upper plenum off... I have removed the 8 support bolts, but its still down. What am I missing?' or 'All of my radiator fluid just spilt out from somewhere in my engine bay... Where should I look? I cant see where it came from.' or something to that effect.

I would go with what your instructor says on this one buddy...

Wear still occurs no matter when the car is running. When it's cold or warmed up. It's still moving, it still has friction, it's still getting wear and tear.

And there is no difference between highway miles and city miles. A mile is a mile. They're both 5280ft long. Have you noticed how people drive now days, everybody hauls ass on the freeway. The average speed here in SoCal on the freeway is 80mph.

Infact, yesterday. I was cruising on the freeway. I looked down and my speedo read to me 100mph even. I wasn't passing anybody.
