Are the diagrams or guides to this type of thing out there?

Thanks to all of you for your help!
well that's embarrasing, i'll have to fix that, but yea just get a K & N air filter. Hate this rain...

Iwould use a PVC one, its easyer to maniplate/cut etc, metal conducts heat too much plus its harder to bend arounb those awkward bits, also PVC is alot cheaper. As for the routing, you`d have to work that one out for yourself, there isnt alot of space to see in my car, sorry.

Re: HELP - intake for '95 Celica ST

nialusa read the last post on the first page, PVC actually absobes heat into it and makes the air hotter, chrome reflects heat off itself and makses the chrome hot, but the inside cool

Re: HELP - intake for '95 Celica ST

I have read the previous posts & I`d have to disagree with that statement. I dont think that PVC would conduct heat as well as metal does. simple test, get two rods, one made from chrome, the other PVC/plastic, hold onto one end then heat up the other end, see who lets go first!

I know the PVC would absorb heat localy, but it wouldnt conduct it too the rest of the pipe like a metal one would.

Re: HELP - intake for '95 Celica ST

thats my point exactly...hold on to the chrome and ull get burnt...if you sealed them off then heated them up and opend them the air in the chorme tube would be roughly the same temp, the air in the PVC would burn the shit outta ur face...thats why chrome is hot on the outside and pvc is hot on both...the chrmoe repells the heat thats why its hotter, the pvc absorbes it to the inside

na my brains starting to hurt from looking at the net all day and its enough of a challenge at this time of night trying to convince you that cars do come made from galvanised steel (see other thread) and this ones going to take some scientific research which to be honest I cant be bothered to do, maybe someother time bud.

if it's a shorty it doesn't really matter what it's made out of. I rather go with individual throttle bodies http://www.webercarburetors.com/ppw/...s/image004.jpg

Re: HELP - intake for '95 Celica ST

This is supid! Chrome cant reflect heat and neither can PVC the only thing that matters is what it does with it. If chrome or any metal for that matter has cool air passing over it then thers nothing to worry about, so for long runs its better. PVC absorbs heat but at a slower rate, so for short runs its good. Neither can be better or worse. (unless you are going for looks.
