Re: Cassies takes the Type R

Not yet, still need to get it. Right now, I'm lookin at the getting just the intake till Summer when I can work again and save up for the exhaust. The ECIS unit is only gonna be 400 (at max) with over night shipping, and I can install it on my own. The exhaust starts at 630, then I gotta pay extra due to wieght for shipping, then installation (can't find any place around here that will loan me out a lift, and I can't wield...) Right now, its looking good on just the intake, and I think I found a place where I can get a deal on the Conforti Injector.

Re: Cassies takes the Type R

Those are pretty reasonable prices as far as aftermarket parts go for a Bimmer...

Re: Cassies takes the Type R

Yeah, but for a poor college student...I'm trying to get in contact with Rouge Engineering to see when they are gonna release teh IKON serries exhaust. Its not a true dual like the DMS, but it sounds nice and looks ok, and is looking to be around a high 300. Very nice.

Also, I was over at my buddies house tonight, and we checked out the Teg again...bogus. It has four lugs, not five on the wheels, and when we asked teh guy about it, he said it was a GS-R, and that he had dropped in the Type R motor, one that he bought of EBay...my buddy was crushed, and hes back on teh search again for a real Type R. Thanks for the warning signs, saved my bud about five grand.

Re: Cassies takes the Type R

damn...that sux...but good thing you checked for it... It always seems that the lugs are what always show if its false or not..

You can badge it every which way you want...paint it any of the 3 colors it came out in, buy a type R motor and drop it in there...but now matter how many things you do to make it look you'll still be stuck with 4 lugs.. not 5

Re: Cassies takes the Type R

Even though, that is STILL a good price for a GS-R.

Re: Cassies takes the Type R

yea...I knew that was too good to be true. The b18c5 itself usually runs for around 5k alone, no way a legit ITR would sell for that much.

Tell your friend sorry, that would be pretty shit news to hear. Although, like streetcr45 said, a gs-r w/ a type-r motor in it for 5k is still a steal of a deal.
