parts for engine rebuild

i have a 95 gst and my engine blew i had desided to go with a engine rebuild vs. the swap i called a place and they said $500 for the work acid diped and every thing he said other charges would be from the parts i was wondering if i should find the parts my self of ebay or some were else so it may be cheaper if so what do i all need like pistons and what else i what to get forged pistons so i dont burn up the motor again

Definately get the parts yourself... I've had too many people get the wrong parts for my car... You having a GST I would be especially careful about that.

$500 acid dip pressure washed machine work more i think is that a bad price

i went to different shops i found another one that it would be 1300 for everything stock parts and rebuild but i really want to get better parts b/c i dont want to go through this again i told them i will find the parts can they install they said they wouldnt install any parts that i bring to them. i really want my car back together because i saw alot of bad ass cars around
