Quoting myself, there are a few rumors on the net of new changes to the Sentra starting 2006. One of them is introduction of the V6 models. These engines would have the same specs as the 2000 Maximas. Anyone else here anything similar or different???

Re: Upcoming Mazdaspeed should we worry?

I think the vq is way too big to fit into a sentra engine bay. They are going to redesign the sentra, but they would have to make the engine bay and therefore the entire car (to make it look right) a lot bigger. Well then you pretty much have an Altima, so I have my doubts that this is going to happen.

Re: Upcoming Mazdaspeed should we worry?

When I said that it would have the same specs as the VQ engine, I wasn't talking about size, only HP and torque. There are plenty of v6 cars that are as small as the sentra: tiburon, BMW 2.5L series, the Mazda 6 isn't that much bigger either.

Re: Upcoming Mazdaspeed should we worry?

Yeah, but they don't use a Nissan v6, and as far as I know the vq35 is the smallest one nissan has, and it's pretty damn big.

Re: Upcoming Mazdaspeed should we worry?

It would have to be something smaller than a 3.5L
Maybe a 3.0 or 2.8, it could be whole new engine for all we know.

The specs are a couple grand cheap and if you were to buy them both used, I bet it will be a pretty big difference between the prices of the two, use that money get a turbo charger for about 4 grand adding about 75-100whp and get an exhaust and you can give the fucking thing a head start and still win, but a car that comes stock with T/C does have more potentail such as intake and stuff made to it on the turbo charger and turbo stage kits its going to haul ass cause its cheaper to upgrade it and that T/C is probably not puting out much stock but the second you change some stuff on it things going to be puting alot out.

Re: Upcoming Mazdaspeed should we worry?

I just traded a 03.5 Mazdaspeed Protege for a 05 spec-v. Stock vs stock they run the same but put a boost controller, which costs less than 100 dollars on the Speed, and it will kill a sentra spec-v.
I put a hardpipe, boost controller at 10lbs, and a short ram intake on my speed and ran a 14.5 1/4mile. The Speed kills in the corners, too. Plus it has a better sound system. It is a good car. But the spec-v will last longer.
