Upcoming Mazdaspeed should we worry?

That new Mazdaspeed is coming out end of this year, should we worry.
Its pretty much an Mp3 with a turbo that sounds scary.
170 horse
155 torque
Turbocharge

And if it still handles like an Mp3 then watch out!

I've heard about that as well. A friend of mine works over here at Moffit Mazda, and he was thinking of getting one next year. I don't know about that car, it'll be close one as the person knows how to drive it. Nothing to be worried about in about my opinion. I saw a picture of it as well, not bad. Still love my car more. I guess we will have to wait and see when it comes out. But when it does I'll be looking for it.:alien:

i think we can take the mazdaspeed protege stock vs. stock, but it has a TC, so it'll be easier for them to fix up their car, meaning less $$$ for more HP

When are they gonna start to put these cars out on the sales floor? Like I said before I don't think that they are gonna be that big of a problem but at the same time I is gonna be a close one.

re

you will have lots to worry about!!!!

a simple exhaust and cai...and bye bye spec v.

Sorry to say..i love spec v's, but nothing can test the power and top end of a free flowing turbo charger.

True Super, but thanks to the Spec V's torque it'll still be able to take it in the stock 1/4.

The slalom numbers are going to be AMAZING. I mean come on, the normal non-turbo beat out a vette in road and tracks test. Also, i think that the racing beat suspension in the Mazdaspeed might be a bit higher grade(or atleast more complete) than the one in the MP3.

What's up everyone. Like I said before it is gonna close one, for instance a friend of mine has a beetle turbo, 150 hp-150tq. His car can hang with modded SI's and so on. Now this car has more hp, so I don't know about this one. I am deffinately gonna be looking for it when they come out. But on the SpecV's deffense, your were mentioning about the fact that all it's gonna take is a simple intake and exhaust. Very true, but now imagine once we get all the basic bolt on's. So it's deffinately gonna be a good one without a doubt.

re

Think whatever you wanna think, but Im telling you...when mazda come out with a turbo car IE...RX7, 323 GTX and so on they dont messa around...the MP3 turbo is not making anyhwere near the horsepower it can make..it also has a ball bearing turbo charger, so that means when you free up the flow af air..it will dust a SPEC V....there will be no chance.

If you dont believe me...you'll find out the hard way...when they come around line it up with one and tell me and the rest of us the results.

NO MATTER WHAT..A TURBO CAR ALWAYS COMES OUT ON TOP AT THE END. PERIOD.

Whatever

Just because a car has a turbo charged that doesn't make it faster than a naturally aspirated car with simillar specs. Look at the numbers. 170hp is 170hp is 170hp. I don't care how the car breathes. 170hp on a T/C car doesn't magically turn into the equivalent of 200hp on a N/A car.

So stock for stock it would be a good race. The Mazda has the edge with the power band, since peek power usually arrives at lower RPM's on T/C cars.

Now aftermarket. For only $500US this Mazda will rock. A simple ECU upgrade and it could make in the neighborhood of 200hp and 250 torque. Look at the GTI. Stock 150hp 155tq. With ECU 197hp 240tq.

Just my opinion

re

YOU'LL SEE.

WHEN YOU LOOSE YOU WILL SAY I WAS RIGHT.

I BET YOU A 323 GTX WILL BEAT A SPEC V IN THE 1/4 MILE.

2 REASONS

1. TURBO
2. AWD

Super Spec V I'm not saying that I'm gonna smoke it. I told you that I know it's gonna be close and maybe it will beat us, so what!!! I can tell you from experience that's it's not gonna smoke us though because me and my friend who has a WRX mess around all the time and the only reason why he kicks my ass is because of the all wheel drive. Now when he let me get a little bit of ahead start, like my back bumper was at his front bumper. Beep the horn three times and he never caught up to me. Also on the highway, I don't know how many times I have said this, but my car can hang right with his ass. Now the WRX specs 227hp, 217tq, 1/4mile, 14.7. New mazda, 170hp, 155tq. You have a SpecV right, don't you any faith in your car at all? Personally this whole thing really isn't that damn serious to me apparently as it is to you.
