Re: average prices of SR20DET......

i goto school w/ 2 brothers from okinowa or however u spell it and they told me that we get the front clips here in america because everyone in jdm world destroys the rear from drifting so they just take the front clip and sell it here in america they cant really make money on them in japan because that would be like trying to sell a civic ex front clip here in america they are so common there is no money in it but there is money in bringing the clips to america

i would believe that!
i was reading on all these SR20 stores who i might buy from, still dont know about how the engines are getting more and more expensive because the demand in America is growing so fast Japan was starting to run low on clips so the prices had to get raised and now when you buy a front clip 90% of time it will not come with side panels like they did a couple years back.

Re: average prices of SR20DET......

cause they are using the side panels for conversions so they make money on the clip in 2 ways

Re: average prices of SR20DET......

it cant be the next civic there arent enough 240's for that to happen which is good but its bad if one of us wrecks ours cause then we have to search for another one which could take a while

The KA is a more reliable engine because it can handle much more wear and tear because of its design and being an iron block copared to the SR which is an aluminum motor.

The KA motor rebuilt and turboed would make a better drag car for about the same price as an SR clip, and installation.

Although on the other hand the SR being an aluminum motor and having a higher power band is a better motor for drifting.

The average price of a front clip is about $2500 from a reliable source.

Re: average prices of SR20DET......

Also, the KA can take forced induction better if you find ways to cool it down like bigger oil coolers and such like that.
