Re: Progress: TOMs Supra GT

You should probably clear them after the decals are on to prevent damage, etc to the decals.

Looks good! I love this car and it's livery and you made it justice! Love to see the finished project, don't rush it for our sake!

Re: Progress: TOMs Supra GT

got a little excited and took some outdoor pics while i had the chance, the muffler tip seems too long so i'll cut it down a bit.

i think it's better to do panel lines before painting in white, or with a wash, they're too black. however it's a detail the model is truly wonderful

Decal softner

Hello guys

New to this forum, was browsing the topics and saw your decal problems.
A simple and cheap replacement for decal softners is 50-60% dilluted medicinal alcohol.
You can get it at most pharmacies and drugstores.

Apply the decals with water as usual and let them dry and set. Then carefully cover the decal with a soft brush with the alcohol, use the soft brush to persuade the decal into the desired form and let it dry again.
Repeat the cycle until you're satisfied.

For really hard corners and complex shapes (like carbon decalling chassis parts) the strongest decal softner is acetone (can also nick the wife's nailpolish remover)
This stuff is so agressive that it literally melts your decal...so be carefull.

p.s by the way, nice Supra, take good care of it as the Supra kits are getting hard to get.

with kind regards
Tamar
