Lightbulb Progress: TOMs Supra GT

I had to put away my sas civic do to putty and primer problems, hate squadron putty. It always leave tiny holes that have to be filled again. Okay here is my progress thread for a castrol toms supra gt. It will be pretty much box stuff, with maybe some cf decals. I do have a question though when i use putty and then use white primer, the primer doesn't really cover the putty color. Should I use grey primer and then white to cover it up? Progress will be slow so bear with me, i have four cars in progress. Okay here are some pics of four coats of tamiya pure white. In about 4 days i should start polishing it up!!

The pics are in the dark, will take some better ones tomorrow.
Suggestions and comments please.

Paint looks good. Enjoy applying the decals - always my favourite part of the job.

Always the most stressful for me. Have fun with the decals though!

The decals wasn't that hard to put on this one, some micro set and sol and it's fixed! Looking good so far. I built mine some years ago and it still sits in my cabinet looking good I have no resized pics so if you want a look check this out. http://niclasproos.fotopic.net/c147798.html

Re: Progress: TOMs Supra GT

A little update panel lines, trim and lights are done, but now i'm in a dilema! I don't have micro sol and set so i don't want to ruin the decals. I might make it street but i'm not sure yet. Does anyone put on decals with just water with no problems?

Re: Progress: TOMs Supra GT

I do most of my decals with just water, sometimes I also use the hairdrier, I only use microsol for things like tires, or really strange curves on the body.

Re: Progress: TOMs Supra GT

You don't need microsol for every single decal, just the ones which are on curved surfaces, and even then water might work.

Re: Progress: TOMs Supra GT

You can get some Testors Decal Set which will help a lot. Usually found at the LHS in the Testors rack.
