Another 1 million in Canada have it, but thats a 2001 statistic.

i think its a fairly safe bet to say that there exists a similar proportion of gays today that there were 2000 years ago. they are just shoved in your face more these days...

but back then they were so embaressed or afraid that they would be with the other sex just cause.
now they feel they can proudly be gay and not have to worry about what others think

2Stroke, I'm with you. Every other animal on the planet has an up and down population swing; take the lemming as a well known example. If you look at estimated population charts for the world, you'll see that there was some regional variations of this sort, due to plague or other concerns.
I think that with our advances in science and technology, we've been able to stave off that decline in population. The influenza outbreak of 1918 killed alot of people in the US and elsewhere. Flu vaccines developed since then have kept the deaths down. Things like heart attack, diabetes, syphilis (and other STD's), scarlet fever, diptheria, polio and others have all seen vaccines created. Without the advances in science and technology, we'd still have quite a bit of population fluctuation. The question now is: Will our advances be enough to hold off the fall? Will our advances be the CAUSE of the fall? Or will our advances make the fall, if it comes, that much more severe? |
