as for the single 12" and 800W amp...sounds golden, though some people do prefer the twin tens. either way, it'll sounds good, just avoid the urge for 2 12's...over kill in my oppinion

I'm bumpin with my MTX Thunder 5500 12" Sub and a 450watt MTX 421 Thunder amp. I love bein able to pull up to some guys blastin rap with their shitty ass bass and just being like *BOooom!* with whatever I'm listenin too. Puts all those wanna be gangstas at my school in their place. I get plenty of bumpin goodness and I just turn it down for certain music. Not to mention I can scare soccer moms

Nah, if you want a Gen III buy a VX SS, easier, and you wont have to take your car through the defect place before you can register it. Plus, us mechanics would get a bit confused when we ordered the parts for a V8 VS, only to find the air filter doesn't fit, the sump plug washer is too small and the spark plugs aren't right.

Anyway, the VPs-VSs all use Tech 1 (the computer that plugs in under the dash, the Gen III from a VX uses the Tech 2. Completely different systems here.

BTW: Why is this thread still going?, get a sub or two, thats all there is to it

Re: Subwoofa in the car. Yay or nay? (AF poll)

I'm thinking in the future i'll get a bodykit for the VS, (side skirts, front spoiler, that's all, nothing fancey).

Hear this, I made this thread about 3 days before I found this out:

A mate of mine has a friend who is doing some "repo" work on a drug dealer who owes her a lot of money, in the repo is an amp and sub. I've bagged it.

This isn't theft: He bought these items with her money, he's a drug dealer, and has a record (i heard he doesn't deal anymore, i've never met him, so I have no idea who it is). So, I'm scaming an amp and sub for 100 bucks. Depends on the quality though, when she gets them, i'll be taking a look.

Nay to subwoofer in car - I'm obsessed with weight reduction and putting a 80 pound deadweight in the back of my car just doesn't sound like a great thing.

Re: Subwoofa in the car. Yay or nay? (AF poll)

Well, I have a 200hp 3.8lt V6. Weight isn't a problem for me, because I don't race, don't plan on it, and I'm saving the embarrasement of other people by not racing them
