Re: how much for a paintjob?
It really all depends on where you get the paintjob, and if you have any connections between the people who do
that kinda stuff. Honestly, I think you should find a guy that does it, then get to know him. A discount is always great. BTW I think either (dont flame me) but I really like the Silver from the Skyline on 2 Fast 2 Furious, and blue pearl metallic is awesome. Black is great too. |

primer primer primer.... especially if you are gonna be drifting. becuase it looks even cooler with scrapes all over it. jk it really is easy to do the first time and easy to do every time after if you need it too. i honestly like primer cars better than candy metallic flake pearl luminescent irradiating turquoise anything. thats just me though.
it honestly cost me like 60 bucks. and we got the sandpaper, tape, paper, and gun for free. you have to get the good catalyzed primer so it lasts otherwise it will turn into a bimonthly primering extravaganza. i own the only flat gray primer 240 i have ever seen, so i think it was a pretty good idea. the flat black is sick too. those are my top 2 picks. take that NFS BITCHES!!! |

Re: how much for a paintjob?
orestes dude its not easy, for a first timer my god...primering compared to painting is way easier yes. But also keep in mind you got all that shit for 60 bux.....hell iv used paint guns that cost way more than that...just for the damn gun. LOL i have the flat black primer.....dp90 to be exact. That alone isnt to cheap, not a wallet breaker but still you dont like to shell out cash for that shit. It is nice though because then every lil scratch all you have to do is respray the area and not worry about blending. I used to have grey but then upgraded to black...lol. Plus you dont want runs and i guarantee a newbie will run it like a mofo. Use a nice hot area too, i just use the booth and bake it.

yeah i got hooked up with it cuz my friends dad does body work and he had all the shit... they have painted like 20 cars in their garage. the most time consuming part was just the sanding which if you think about it its stupid to pay someone for that kind of work. and my friends dad sprayed the car and me and him sprayed the bumpers, mirrors, and wing. we ended up bondo-ing a dent too which turned out great. based on purely the labor part of it, i couldnt see charging someone more than like 250 or 300 bucks. and it looks great!
but yeah either way if you dont have some kind of a hook up on paint its way expensive. |
