lol my bad.. 5 seconds after posting, i decided to quit being lazy and google'd.
there are some hilarous Maaco horror stories all over the net.
it seems a quality PJ is way out of my budget for now, so i'm putting that idea on hold...
ps - $50? what is that, the do-it-yourself sandpaper-and-walmart-spraypaint-paintjob?

Re: how much for a paintjob?

dude you cant go wrong with spray paint lol j/k......yea a good quality paint job in a custom color like you want will cost some ghetto cheese unless you know someone in the business that will hook you up with a good price...which will still more than likely be over 1500 for the WHOLE car to be painted. including jams, engine bay(up to you), under hood, etc etc etc.

Re: how much for a paintjob?

if you really want a good paintjob for cheap, just strip your car yourself, bono it yourself sand it yourself and rent out a paint booth from a good paint shop, then buy the paint and go at it, do alot research first of course, but its really not that hard, im 17 and did the same thing to a lincoln i had, i painted it gold with lots of flake, my uncle helped me out a little but not that much, it turned out so good that i was able to sell the car for 2k and it didnt even run!

Re: how much for a paintjob?

dont lie it had runs like a mofo lol jk. Nothing sanding cant get rid of anyway. But i wouldnt say painting a WHOLE car is easy enough for a first timer to just go out and do it. He wont even know how to mix the damn paint. Where to tape it off? Take the doors off(for jams)? its more work than it sounds.

Re: how much for a paintjob?

the SCC paint job is pretty badass but what really makes it badass is how they did the sponsor logos on it

fact-o-bake and maaco have done some really shitty jobs around me

you can really see the grinder marks, and on a few of them you can see the factory paint coming through, like they dont sand it or anything just spray on another coat a different color

the only one that was decent was my friends, it was actually pretty cool because the way the paint came out it had a blueish shine to it in certain light, even through it was supposed to be flat
