Yea I have one of those 231s in my 79 malibu.It only made 413hp and 525 ftlbs to the wheels. Not to bad for a mostly stock motor. A cam and some boltons will do wonders on a gn.That was with a 400 turbo and 308 gears.I have changed the trany back too the 200r4 in hopes of a low 11 sec. et on radils.

In certain years you could get them in White and Red also. Can't remember which years though.
