Re: i need new rotors
I also think you have to think about metalurgy, the type of metal the rotor is made out of is important to, It needs to disapate heat. And resist warpage.

Re: i need new rotors
if you had access to a cnc machine and some good steel i'm sure it could be done... for the rotors at least.. the calipers could be a different story however

well...i didnt plan to build new rotors from scratch or rotors. hell you can take calipers off random cars that have a more powerful caliper. and customize a bracket so they will mount to your rotor.
according to z1, the stock calipers can provide enough clamping power to do a big brake kit. hence they rebuild the stock calipers with bigger rotors. its all just an idea, personally i would just rather buy a big brake kit from z1 or another company and call it a day.

Re: Re: i need new rotors
that is what i love about auto tech class. we have access to all different kinds of machines. i can balance my tires for free, i can do an alignment on my car for free, i can grind down my brakes for free, ect. plus, we have four lifts, makes it a whole lot easier to work on your car. now only to let my school let me use the shop whenever i want.

Re: i need new rotors
yea UTI had the same policy you can work on your car during the certain Weekends but otherwise you had to try and slide it in during shop time. Good thing is that they had all the tools you will need too. Then when I went to Volvo it was even better, we just had to be done with our labs then we could do whatever short of engine swaps on our car.
