Ummm, did you read that link? I don't recall anything in there about them feeling humiliated. The survey pointed to a need for better security and job creation as the priorities for Iraqis but I don't recall any humiliation being cited...

Let me tell you a story that my friend in Army Intel (an interrogator) told me when he got back from Iraq a few months ago.

A squad of soldiers on night patrol in Tikrit recieved fire from an unknown source in a large neigborhood. They proceeded to break down the door of the closest house near where they suspected the fire had originated. There they found a middle-aged man and his wife IN BED. When one of the soldiers stuck his rifle in the wife's face, the husband pushed it away. He was promptly butted in the chest with an M16 and arrested, ending up in front of my friend for interrogation. Nothing was found during a search of the house. When my friend had the translator ask him why he had grabbed the soldier's rifle, he looked him directly in the eye and said honestly, "Because NO ONE points a gun at my wife".
He was released.

His wife was seen without traditional covering by men in her own bed. His wife was mistreated in his own home. The man himself was struck, arrested and detained for defending his wife's honor. Any dignity this man has was not the gift of American "liberators". It's his own DESPITE them.

What I was stating is that its sad how much a country of such age and history has had to endure to its "Sovereignty". But as long as theres fuel for your v8 and model parts for your models, such matters arent of concern to you...
