start a new thread about the celica, there are a few people on here that know about 3rd gens, but just to clairify in America we had the ST, GT and the GT-S. The ST was basically the same as the GT just without power windows and power door locks, the GT-S was the same as the GT but had the IRS and I think some had an LSD not sure. But all our American models came the the 22R or 22RE (2.4L truck motor). Start a new thread about your XT and state what engine and setup you have.

Another note on the ST GT differences

My Celica is an 82 ST. They also come with a "unitized" rear differential whereas the GT comes with a "conventional" rear differential. What's the difference. The ST rear end doesn't have the "pumpkin head" carrier assembly but the gearing and parts inside are almost identical. Just some minor differences with the adjusting nuts and related parts. The GT rear end is easier to work on and quieter. Just another one of the reasons the ST was considered for standard touring (ST) and the GT is for grand touring (GT). Another note of interest is the wiring harness for electric mirrors (though the ST only has one manual mirror) are installed in the ST. I got a center GT console and was able to install a power mirror in a short amount of time.

Not sure but on my 81 ST I switched from untitized to standard with no issue. Fits fine. It was all they had. Simple swap and came with all other hardware, very economical.
