Re: How many MPG do you get on your Tahoe/Yukon?

We just bought 1996 2wd Tahoe last Friday. Clean truck with 119k. The previous owner installed a power chip, flowmaster and K&N drop-in filter. Our first tank full got us 13 MPG. That was 30% city and 70% freeway. I am thinking about replacing the cat converter jest because it is close to 120K. I feel we shoiuld be getting around 15-17 MPG.

13-15mpg before I started driving my truck like a cruiser. My tank went from 285 a tank up to 330-340. I am sold on taking off easy at the light and trying to keep it under 2g rpm's until OD kicks in.

Hey bartlanz whats up with the emergency flasher? Are you another one of those EMT's or Paramedic that has to use there own vechicle? I would tell LAcoFD to shove it, if we had to use our personal vechicles.Although Whelen makes a great unit so does Federal Signal.

2000 Limited

Had my 2000 limited brand new. Drove stock for around 2yrs. Avg. 14-17 city and hwy. Put Flowmaster 50 series added around 0.5mpg. ~6mos ago put on K&N FIPK II. Mostly drive highway and have been averaging 18-21 mpg. Probably the best $250 spent.
