I have on of these kits on the go right now too! Did you modify the suspension at all? Your completed models appears to sit lower than the one on the box.

to answer some questions, yes I did lower the front suspension, it sat way to high.
and yes it does have brakes!, they are hard to see because they are dark. the real car has carbon brakes, which are a dark color and it has black calipers.
