Re: Just got my 88 10th anna turbo 13b

Congrats, the T2's are a very fine car and a great true sports car!
The RX7club is also a good place to learn about your new baby as well!
Is your exhaust orig.? Many times a exhaust that old will have a somewhat clogged cat...
The Turbo 2nd gens also usually will have a cracked TID (Turbo inlet duct) because its so close to the extreme heat of the Turbo, its hard to see unless you take it off...That can cause your idle to move around and you will be hard pressed to boost as you should as well...
Many owners first mod is to replace the TID with a custom version with a smoother path...
Let us know how its going...
Good luck/skill!

Yes, the TID is the hose that goes from your air box to the Turbo...
I bought a custom one from a member of the www.rx7club.com maybe 2 years ago...It was made of much better not cracking material...Its also a better design and should give you a full 1 more pound of pressure...I think he chraged me around $80ish? It should last the life of the car easy.

As far as your exhaust goes...I bet your stock orig. cat is about useless by now and stopping you from getting near stock boost levels...They get somewhat clogged with time...

You would be suprised what some custom muffler shops can do...cheap...Maybe you can get a good high quality-hi-flow chrome muffler for around $70 and have the shop replace some or all of the bad pipe you now have...should be able to do that for aother $100...A nice cone filter, good exhaust and TID will however probably put you past stock levels of boost and you might hit the fuel cut...You don't want to boost more then your stock fuel system can allow for...
I would read up on that subject at the RX-7 club, become a memeber, its free, lotsa cool people!

Also post a picture, lets see your baby!
Let me know if you have any other questions. I will be happy to help.
I miss my T2...
