you honestly think you can gain 145hp from all motor work? we get these questions all the time from newbies on 240sxforums.com
you know what you need to make 200 n/a whp? you need 1) raised compression ratio ( new hi comp pistons ) 2) crazy cams 3) rebalance rotating assembly 4) raised rev limit 5) ecu retuning 6) new intake manifold 7) intake 8) headers 9) exhuast 10) pulleys 11) light weight fly wheel 12) alumium drive shaft i have a friend who had a n/a 97 240sx. his mods are 1) jwt ecu 2) light weight fly wheel 3) clutch 4) cold air intake 5) alumium drive shaft 6) hot shot headers 7) exhuast 8) no cat 9) UR pulleys and his car is only quick from 0-60mph however once he hit 3rd, the car falls on its face. he can barely walk a near stock v-tec prelude not worth the money isn't it? i turboed my engine bone stock. stock comp, stock everything. i still haven't even put in the lightweight flywheel yet or put in hotter cams. i still got more power to make from my 9 psi. just think of it this way, all the mods you have for n/a most of it will be in the trash when you do a turbo. for the few stuff you can reuse, such as lightweight componets like flywheels etc, they will give you exponential power gains compared to putting it in a n/a car.

it was a custom kit by realnissan. but they are no longer selling kits, casue they weren't really a shop. they're a bunch of 30 year old KA guys who are accountants by day, but has hook ups to sell parts for cheap to KA followers. since most of them have familys and jobs, they can no longer keep on doin that. so they stopped.

http://www.boostdesigns.com/stage1.htm
good basic kit for only 1900. however i would recommend this one since its alot more complete. and have a much better fuel managment system http://www.boostdesigns.com/stage3.htm you need to get stage 2 before you hit stage 3 though. so thats another 1 G. so thats only 2.9 G's for a very very reliable setup. and you'll be making around 250-260whp.

Re: SR vs KA vs CA
Rebello makes them..... people use them in SCCA and NASPORT racing, uses carbs, SOHC.... its pretty fucken sick
a carb'd SOHC ka running 300horses naturally aspirated... now I wouldn't consider this a street motor, but I don't consider 500hp Sr20 engines street engines either http://www.rebelloracing.com/ |

Re: SR vs KA vs CA
If its power you want then go KA. Sure you can get both the KA and SR up over 600whp but they will not last long.
I personaly have had my KA up to 510rwhp. Blew it up after but still. They can handle alot of power. Id stick with a KA even the SOHC KA's are great when turboed. Just look at Jordan Gladmans car, hes had it for some time, its a SOHC KA, TONS of power. Its actualy lighter than the SR. It basicly comes down to personal preference.
