No, they're "The first three" - silly.

Greetings YogsVR4,

It's also refreshing to know that common sense still prevails with our ally down under. The win was also a slap in the face of the detractors to the fight against global terrorism and that they are in the minority. This is an indication of what will, likewise, happen here in the U.S. in just under a month...

Don't you just hate it when you're always right?...

Re: Looks like Howards wins in Australia!

anyone that says howard won cause of his stand on loving war or his particular appetite for bushs scrotum needs to have a look at the worm. no not howard, the other worm, the one showing popularity for his policies, Australia was not for invading other peoples countries with no evidence, but the labor party could not convince enough people that they knew how to run the country, they couldn't say where the money was coming from. Don't fool yourselves.

the guy is a lying dick.. and hes even worse in person.

Howard won on domestic policy.Unfortunately, the Labor leader did not have the answers to Howard's scaremongering in that department.

If Howard had made the war in Irq his central campaign plank, he'd be packing his bags now. Before you start spouting utter shite, franko, it would be wise of you to research your facts.

Re: Looks like Howards wins in Australia!

Sigh. Statistics and vote counts again prove my theory that a large majority of people I have to coexist with are fucking morons.

And I think sufficient damage has been done that we could no longer appeal to the sensibilities of NZ to become the West Island.

Such is life.

It's also refreshing that sometimes people mistake "stupidity" for "common sense" and then use those two terms in place of one another.

I was thinking that same thing after reading Grant's post.

Re: Looks like Howards wins in Australia!

haha i was thinking the same thing OZ...

mind you, you reckon the kiwi's over there are bad! you should see how they act at home!

at least they weren't stupid enough to go to war, probably just cause it would cost money, but at least they didn't go.

Re: Looks like Howards wins in Australia!

Money wasn't the issue.Democracy was.The public were overwhelmingly against joining an attack which flew in the face of the UN's advice. As were the public of Australia. The only difference is that our politicians didn't sell their public down the river for the promise of 'trade negotiations. We don't elect our leaders to take blood money from someone seeking to buy legitimacy for his imperial conquests.

Re: Looks like Howards wins in Australia!

yeah but that was howard too... a poll comes in saying 78% want a public elected head of state
12% are monarchists
10% want a government elected head of state (king johnny)

if you're a monarchist and you have to ok the question what do you do? SIMPLE

pit your 12% against the other 10% and have both sides argue that if the other 78% want things their way they should vote for your side!

what a load of crap.

result things stayed as they were. 78% of people got ripped off because the monarchists were arguing that if you want a publically elected head of state the best way was to wait for another referendum, and the king johnny's were arguing that if you want a publically elected head you should vote for them cause the fastest way to get it was to get to start the change.

in essence both were no change cause monarchy is the way it is, and the governor general is chosen by johnny!
(LAST TIME HE CHOSE A PEADOPHILE!)

why not have the question, do you want a publically elected head of state?

because Johnny is a cheating filthy scumbag.

incidentally can anyone else remember when he introduced himself at that school in victoria as the "President" of Australia?

Re: Looks like Howards wins in Australia!

Howard is a joke. Unfortunately we are stuck with him for another 4 years.

Not many people need an entire country to contain their ego. He is one of the few.
