Question problem with injector/ spark plug.??

This is a strange problem. no one iv spoken with has ever heard of something like this. i was driving (87 gn) and all of a sudden its running like hell, popping slow etc. i got it home and popped the hood. i notices a spark plug wire unattached. ( strange, but ok) so i go to reattach it and noticed its hollow. the metal inside the plug is gone, and the ceramic is blown apart. i diddnt have a gapper and dint have the correct gap #s, so i replaced the spark plug with a new one leaving it gapped as it came. a few days ago i notice the fuel injector on the same cylinder was leaking fuel. im not sure which happened first, or even if one can cause the other. what the hell!! anyone have any suggestions?

How many miles are on your car and how old are the valve springs.

If you where under boost it is possible you floated your valves and blew the injector out of the bung. The spark plug thing is kinda weird though

Re: problem with injector/ spark plug.??

now that you mention it, there is a strange rattle coming from the cat converter. could it rally be that piece of the spark plug? i couldnt see how it would fit through the turbine blades.
