50-50 weight is not necessarily good.... plus Miata's are girly cars! Fast/ Maybe the newer Turbocharged ones... There are waaaay better drift-cars out there. S13's, S14's and many other RWD cars are potentially 'good' drift cars... please refer to the sticky in the DRIFT forum. 'What else can people do beside drift'? HuH? Try GRIP racing!

steam pressure from turbo cars when drifting or like in 2fast and 2 furious. that skyline in that dispicable movie had a nos purge system which allowed nos to shoot up out of the sides of the car. on turbo cars, there are BOV's that release pressurized air when the load is released, if it is cold then that can sometimes cause a stream of smoke.

or when drifting, smoke coming out the rear of the car is smoke from the tires being burnt.

drifting is more or less the art of sliding around corners instead of slowing down and then taking the turn. it is done by sliding the back end of the car around on a turn and then of course bringing back around. i could go into more detail but i will leave it to someone that is a drifter.

i think 1viadrift was referring to grip racing as when your race and try not to lose traction.

there is a racing section in automitve forums and under that it is divided into different kinds of racing. go there to learn about drifting.
