Buying a 300zx tt

Is there anything else out there better then the 300zx tt (twin turbo) that will produce 400+hp from a light wieght V6 import engine for 20,000$? Whats the fastest import?

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

if you can find a supra tt, rx-7 tt, or a 3000gt vr-4, those could probably make 400 hp for $20k. but i hope you aren't in it all for hp.

yeah freak is right...thats the wrong way to look upon nice cars as listed above. HP isnt everything. but reguarding the 300zxTT, i would say that it is the easiest to produce 400+hp with 20,000. except for maybe the supraTT but i dont think you will be able to find a nice supra TT for less than 20,000, maybe a single turbo??? or n/a.

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

yeah, good luck finding a tt supra for anything under 35k... canadian that is.. so whatever that is american i'm not sure... as for the 400hp... intake exhaust and ecu will get you to around 400hp on the z32 tt... there's a package from one of the online sites around here for like $1100 that gives you the stage 3 upgrade.. z1motorsports.com i think it is.. if you're looking for something light weight, probably try and find yourself an rx-7 turbo II and go from there.. they're lighter than the zxtt and the supra tt i believe

I would say go with an FD3S... Light, mildly cheap, and good power.

Love that quote

speaking of rx7, i saw a r1 that was black with some "viper" stripes in yellow goin along it and some nice nice wheels. it had been stolen and taken for a joy ride. well the guy who stole it blew the motor because of lack of oil and this place was selling it. they only wanted 4k for it. i really was tempted to take out a loan and start another project. the body still seemed to be flawless condition.

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

Yea but then you have to worry about titled a salvage car, replacing, or rebuilding that 13B TT... Wouldnt exactly EASY... But well worth it.

I love FD's... Just cant fit in the damn things.

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

Go With The Z32tt Its The Best There Is!! The Rx7 Have Tomany Problems With Turbos. And The Supra Are Over Rated In Price So Is The Rx7. The Supra Only Makes Like 10hp More Than The Z32tt.

For About $20,000 You Can Get Your Self A 93 To 95 Z32tt For About $13000 And If You Spent The Rest ($7000) In Upgrades Your Car Will Be Way Over 400hp

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

Um... In case you havent relized quite yet, Twin Turbo Zeds arent exactly a 'Low Maintenence' car.

FD's have little to no problems in my experience. But if something goes wrong, its never a SMALL problem.

But then again its never a small problem with Turbo cars.

I've rebuilt a couple of 13Bs they are REALLY easy to work on and you really dont need alot of lifting equiptment, just anohter freind with a strong back and some good gloves. One of my old freinds and I converted his FC over to run alchol and made it a pure drag car, got it into the high 10s when all was said and done. We never did get a engine hoist, used to just pull it out by hand.

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

Umm... Cant say we did that Hodo, haha.

Cherry Pickers are deffinately easier than a good pair of gloves, and a thrown out back. But yes, 13B's are extremely easy to work on.

We made a four rotor one over the last summer... Didnt run, but it sure as hell looked sweet with 4 Saab Turbos bolted onto her

We had the machine shop machine us a four rotor set eccentric shaft, had the plenum and exhaust manifolds fabricated, and we got the turbos off various Saab 9000 Turbos we found in the local Saab Yard... Guy only wanted $5 a pop, because they were blown.

So we beadblasted up EVERY component, pollished, powder coated and painted everything... It was a damn sweet looking engine... But once again, didnt run.

Just looked nice sitting on the table. I've been meaning to find out what happened to it, seeming as I havent taken a class there in almost two years.

Ill try and dig up some old pictures.

That would be ****in killer if you could get it into a car. Especially if you put it in a Taurus or something. Imagine that crap, 900 hp four rotor Taurus. Drive train goes BOOM!

Anyway, rotaries always seemed like great race motors and lousy daily drivers. High, fast revving engine putting out obscene power all in a small package. Uses oil, blows apex seals and gets shitty mileage. Sounds like a track motor to me Anyone else hear rumors about the RX-8s needing engine rebuilds as soon as 40k miles?

Re: Buying a 300zx tt

never heard about the rx-8 needing rebuilt at 40k miles. it is most likely just a rumor. and why a taurus? i would say a geo metro or something.
