AC Fan Speed and Belt
Hello all,
I have a 88/89 camry the low speed on my AC fan is broken. I did some search and found it out it was some kind of resistor. But where is it located at? And where can I buy this resistor. My second question is how offten do U guys replace your timing belt and the other belt that runs the alternator. |

The resistor is located on passenger side under the glovebox area. Dealer would have it for expensive price of about $60, don't know if it can be had at auto stores. Timing belt at 60k miles along with water pump. Alternator belt may last till 120k or may be changed at 60k. Power steering belt usually gets changed with the timing belt.

Thanks all for info...but guess I'm just a noob.
I open a panel under the passager dash. But I couldnt find it. I saw a small cover, inside of it has a circuit board with some relay. I also find a small board with three coils next to something that looks like a fan motor on the right side. Is this it? I try disconnecting it for a quick test, but the fan still runs... Am I suppose to remove more panels... Please help. Hate to have AC at near full blast all the time. |

Re: AC Fan Speed and Belt
The blower motor resistor is located under the right side of the dash (behind glove box) behind the blower motor. It is directly behind a cable with a flexible boot.
