Question help me with my Ipod?

I have a 2001 x-5 and I'm trying to hook up my Ipod. The key is to use the prewired cd changer wiring and integrate the hard drive with the head unit. I guess after some research I found the Phat noise product for $1000 which sucks. If the Phat noise mp3 plater can do it there must be an adapter for the ipod to hook up to the same CD changer input?

Also the 2003 and newer models can have an accessory input installed but of course it's not available for the 2001 model.

ANY advise?
HELP?

there's a thing made special fo rthe iPod, at the Apple website. It's a car adapter set. I'm not quite sure what it's actually called, but research on the apple website, at www.apple.com. They should have plenty of stuff to help you out.

not so simple

If it were that simple I wouldn't be on this site searching for answers,
Ipod only has an output for RCA cables and an RF transmitter for a radio signal.

I want to hard wire the Ipod with integration into the BMW stereo head unit..

If anyone else has solved this please reply.

iPod and BMW integration

I would suggest you visit www.mp3yourcar.com and look at their custom iPod car integration kits... I called and they do have a lot available for the BMW, it is just not listed on their site.

What exactly are you trying to do? I know their kits will allow audio directly in, control of the ipod from car stereo buttons and steering wheel controls, and it charges the ipod battery.

Good luck!
