Re: amp not workin

Are your RCAs and power wire on the same side?
Check your ground, make sure it is tight

you mean the same side of the amp?
i got it all goin now,i played withthesetting on the amp andgot the crackiling to stop. but only the leftsideis working, no theright. ive tryed everything ican think of, when i attached the speakers back tothe head unit ( so they were not attached tothe amp at all) then they worked, so somewhere between the amp and the speakers theres a prob, but its notin the stock wiring.

Re: amp not workin

how were your speakers connected to your amp?
were they soldered, crimped on terminal lugs, bare wire, etc.?

Re: amp not workin

a common problem I see alot is when somebody crimps the lugs on so tight they cut thru most if not all of the conductors, that might be something to double check

Re: amp not workin

are you sure there was no power avail. on your steady hot, because if you short it to ground while the amp is grounded, 9 times out of 10 that's pretty much a wrap for your amp...try getting a local shop to bench test it for you, they'll do it for a couple of bucks, (about $5 - $10) for their time

Re: amp not workin

If you short circuit a hot, (live) wire to the chassis ground of your system, and your components are chassis grounded, that would be the same thing as shorting a hot wire directly onto the chassis of your components...a local shop can put your amp on a test panel to troubleshoot all of it's functions
