Re: Re: Re: More Tamiya re-releases...

Maybe a Citroën WRC Xsara should be nice, or a Audi TT DTM, or a Ferrari 575 GT....I could go on like that for hours !!!!

But I think Vric and his sarcastic reply was the right one (second reply of the tread) !!! Then the JGTC GTR (1 kit in two different version) because the Pug 206 is just a kind of re-issue of the last 5 years but with different wheels, some modification of the front end and no drivers !!

Re: More Tamiya re-releases...

I think it has something to do with licenses why tamiya hasn't built any 1/24 Audis since the Audi Quattro and Quattro rally car in the eighties. They made the Audi R8 and Audi TT DTM in 1/10 RC.

So if they did the TT in RC form... they already have the licenses didn't they ??

And VWman, I've got my hand on a V5 golf MK IV and planning to turn it into a Dahlback Racing RSI... so why bother until they made a R32... Go ahead and do it !

Ps... I said planning to... the box isn't open yet ! And no, I won't sell it !! I've got it for 20$, the hobbyshop had this babe on the shelves for almost a year and he didn't had any offer on it !
Dahlback Racing RSI: 2 motors... 900hp/900kg... hummm the beast.

Well if they've made it in RC then obviously there is a reason why the have not made it in 1/24, possibly because they are only using it for the shell of an RC car but in 1/24 all components have to be replicated.

Re: More Tamiya re-releases...

Maybe you just found the reason why Tamiya didn't put as many model as they should !!! Book a guy at Audi Sport division to do a shell for a RC.... then 2 years later... try to book the same guy (so you don't have to explain again) to have another license to do a static model with the same DTM car ! Sincerely, I hope they don't work that way, what a waste of time ! BUT... you could be right, because I don't even know how this licenses thing is working (not sure if anybody does). If it's that way, they should revise their method.

If I were in charge... book the guy at Audi to do a complete shoot out of the car and ask licenses for all the products I'm intented to do... RC/Model kit/etc (could be miniRC or anything)... Do the RC shell because it's faster and serve as a teaser then release the 1/24 model almost immediately (I think that's what they do with the Carrera GT) and by the way, maybe I would insert a couple of photo of the real car in the back of the model's building sheet... you know, engine bay, interior, details... so the public can see what a fantastic job your ingeneers did... not to mention the reference material for the most advance modelers (I know a company who already does that with airplanes of the WW2).

So... Am I in charged already ???

You SHOULD be in charge: it only makes sense to do it that way. Please send me some pictures of your Dahlback racing VW Golf/Audi. I love that car! I've thought about building the same thing, but honestly i just don't have the ambition to embark on such a difficult project..... I absolutely think we need MORE EURO CARS! Why no one has made any of the new Bimmers that count (M3, M5, Z4, or 6-Series) is beyond me. I think there should be some Audi models out there too, such as the A4/S4 (any year), TT (not that I like it much), RS6, S8. And how about a Jetta model or a re-issue of the Corrado? I would love to see any of these cars kitted. Not going to hold my breath. Lambo is owned by Audi, so perhaps Fujimi's new Lambo model gives us euro-heads some hope...... I plan on doing a resin Jetta IV body for the Tamiya Golf IV kit sometime in the future if no one beats me to it. And I am going to tear apart my two (1 newer and 1 older body style) Welly 1/24 Audi A4's to make a couple of tuner custom A4 models. Maybe I'll do a transkit of some sort.
