LM contest entry - Toyota GT-One

Until some of my projects are on hold because objective reasons I started new race car project.
I got this kit from my friend Rinus, part of body was painted and I removed al color to make it again. Rest of car was untached.
So far I don't think that make it with some big details, it will be mostly box stock. For serious project there is need for couple CF sheets and PE parts and that is expensive for me and this time.
It will not be masterpiece like David's.

I'm entering it in this contest for fun because it will be OOB model.
So far I started to work on engine first.

Looks quite good!

Tamiya instructions seem to be not always accurate with the real color codes...
Many reference pics will always help a lot.

Re: LM contest entry - Toyota GT-One

Welcome to the comp Zeljko, build it just like the MC photos and it will be stunning! Just added this thread to the comp list - 18 entrants so far! Hope we can have a very high percentage of those actually finish

Engine is finished, all parts are on. There is need for some small weathering on it.

Re: LM contest entry - Toyota GT-One

Look nice so far ! But if you are building the Le Mans version, the brakes had carbon discs, so maybe you should paint them in a darker color.

Thank you Alex!

But if I look on this photo, color don't look me dark.

Re: LM contest entry - Toyota GT-One

Yes but this one is used.
New carbon brake discs:

Now tou have to choose if you build the car before or after the race.
