Re: Hyde's New Dyno

I'm not sure what you are asking? ... are you asking what kind of a car did I run or what kind of times?

I've only owned MR2s and beater-hatchbacks.
I have raced all of turbo MR2s in the past.

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

what setups were running on the street? and what time were u running when you timed the car at the track? what were some of the biggest upsets on the streets? where did u run? were you the fastest? did everyone call you out to run to prove themselves? i have done the whole street racing thing out here in NYC a 200sx with motor swap and i was respected in some circles i eventualy timed the car when not in top form in the 12's. my biggest kill was a viper from a roll. mind you i timed the car @ 15psi with no traction and got 12's but when i ran the viper i was leaner and running @ 20psi! from a roll. i blew up at over 150mph and then he passed me but i was happy.

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

I never was involved in organized SR. It was only the random red light meetings or highway sprints.
My turbo MR2s where in the high 12 to low 13 range when I raced.

I had no reputation at the time. I have a lot of people that want to run me now though

I never had a chance to race anything special ... usually just the misguided, weak-egoed vetter and mustang drivers.

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

Im pretty sure if we were on a pass that was used as a hill climb i could bully you into pushing Hyde a lil bit, just to flex those skills Jeff...

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

I did not say that I never push Hyde on the street.
I said I do not street race.
There is a big difference.

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

lol i used to live for it...ive been doing that since age 15. i don't do it anymore but i do push it a little when some one pulls up on the highway or redlight every now and then. Since i got locked up for it and had my car taken i have toned it down to almost never.

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

Mr Jekyl those are very impressive numbers that makes me want to own a MR2, your information is very valuable, especially when I trying to decide on my next car, by the way are'nt you afraid that all that power will find a weak spot on that old engine?!?

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

Tach_it, I fully expected to blow up my engine on the first 1/4 mile run I ever did with it ... 3 years later I have over 90 passes on it.

If it blows up, it blows up. I do not rely on this car for transportation. It is purely a recreational vehicle.

Re: Hyde's New Dyno

he's still within the reliable power limits for a stock 3sg Tach. These engines are nuts.
