Some of these responses are hilarious! What do you expect when you buy a car with 183k on it & the last owner was a 16 yr old female?

I don't know what the policy is in other states, but any vehicle sold in NY with over 100k on it has "mileage exceeds mechanical limits" printed right on the title...that should tell you something. Sure there are plenty of vehicles that are still chugging along at 120k, 140k, 160k, etc, but unless they were maintain religiously, they're gonna have problems.

Putting huge, wide ass tires on ANY vehicle screws up the steering geometry...especially if the wheels are offset. (If the tires stick out beyond the wheel wells, we call em "lawn rollers"...LOL). The offset changes the load characteristics on the wheel/axle bearings & causes them to wear out prematurely. It also causes wear on the rest of the steering & suspension components. If you keep the car long enough, you'll fnd that out...but of course, you'll blame it on the piece of shit car rather than your ignorance in automotive engineering.

As for the statement about a Cavalier...it's basically the same car, but it a cheaper wrapping....the GA is a better vehicle

Re: My wonderful grand am

i live in PA, i dont think we have "mileage exceeds mechanical limits". We should tho, PA is among the leaders in the "worst roads in America" catagory. I agree on the cavalier statement. Cavaliers are sharp cars and theres definitly a lot more available for them if ur interested in aftermarket products but the GA is overall a better car. But hey, its ur car...not mine.

Re: My wonderful grand am

and first of all i didnt buy the car with 183 on it there was only 170 on it when i bought it ROFL....major difference huh...not really but hey ill drive it till it blows up and buy a new motor if that doesnt work ill buy a new car how about that. One question for those of you who might be NICE enough to help...do gas caps go bad? And have any of you ever had a problem where when u let off the gas your car idles really bad and wants to die. like its not getting any gas or something its fine if i take the gas cap off tho.

FINALLY, some real questions.

If your saying you take your gas cap off and the car idels just fine, then yes, the gas cap might be bad. This is off subject but i think it fits, i have an atv that for some reason after driving around for a little while, it will try to die if i let of the gas. If i take the gas cap off and keep it running, the problem quick goes away. There must be some kind of valve on the cap that allows the tank to breathe a little.
