Re: Golf gti wide body project From a new member

Just a little update.
I made the front bumper fit the body, so i would like to share this experience with you guys.
It still needs some putty and of course some sanding but the look is there.

Now the body is nearing its finish still some detailing to do, like the edge running allong the middle of the door together with some other things.
But the large body shapes are done

later

Cool. I'm stuck on radiators with mine, that's why I haven't updated it. Plus I need to get some expoxy putty and fill some seems/gaps and smooth some stuff out.

Can't wait to see some new pics of your golf but have you thought about the hotrod look on your golf? .

Re: Golf gti wide body project From a new member

[OFFTOPIC]Well, if i win the lotery then then...... pheaton's are beautifull but they are so damned expensive, just give me a corrado vr6 and /me is happy [/OFFTOPIC]

[ONTOPIC] I am realy stuck on something.
As i said i would like the 320i racing engine in the golf but there is a problem.
The problem is....realism, cause this engine has air horns which in real life can't be mixed with to much dust . So it is unrealistic to fit this engine in the car in real life cause it isn't going to be a race car.
So if i would go with this engine i must make somekind of airfilter to keep up with realism which is do-able.
On the other hand i can make a golf gti 16V engine with some mods like a turbo and a different intake, and i have some realy good reference pictures for both the engine and the mods i will be making for it.

So i'm stuck on this question and would like to have some oppinions about which to choose.
Maybe you guys could give me some tips or reference pics of making a good air filter for the airhorns if you say " go for the 320i engine" .
Well i hope you guys could give some input on this one

Greets

Erik

(sry for the double post) what i meant is to give the golf a hotrod look ,very wide very bold fender flares and maybe a chopped top . Most hot-rods are made from 30s-50s american automobiles or the beetle but to give a hot rod style to the golf has never been done (not to my knowledge) and will surely be unique , maybe ugly but it can be tried

Re: Golf gti wide body project From a new member

Ok, I get it. Im thinkin of puttying the flares to smoothen them out, and smooth out the factory bumpers and such.
