Well, I was pretty sure they'd have to rebuild the whole thing, but beisdes changin shift points, etc...they are also bulletproofing it...it will shift faster, at better points, and it will be able to handle power...of course, it cost a lot.

Tranny swap, are you refering to auto to manaul swap.

Re: auto VS. stick, could the auto win ?

I used to drive a '93 Integra w/ auto, and it had a "sport" button on it. When you floored the gas, it would go to 7,000 rpm before shifting. I don't know for sure, but I would have thought since Acura has something like that, you might be able to get it for the Civic. Guess not.
Personally, I don't miss the Integra at all. (It's probably been recycled into razor blades by now; I wrecked that bitch but good.) The sport shift was okay, and it could haul some balls, but I would take my manual transmission Civic over that thing any day. Only thing I miss about automatic was that it was easier to eat a hamburger while driving.

It can be done, of course. How long it takes really depends on your skill and knowlegde I guess. Just do some research, call around, you have the right idea.
