A RB in a 240 is practically bolt in. If you are going to swap in a RB26 then you have to go to a single turbo instead of a twin but other than that it will pretty much mate up with the 240.
I have both a 240 and a 300. They aren't all that much alike under the hood. Swapping a I6 into a I4 car is much different then swapping it into a V6 car. VGs aren't that bad to work on. Not for the power they provide and being the stock motor in a 300Z, they are a damn sight easier to work on in a 300Z then anything else you source. Even if you upgrade turbos, chip, intake, exhaust, clutch, pistons, connecting rods, and etc in a VG...its still 80% stock. Stock is always easiest to work on. Atleast with stock I can look in one book and figure out what the hell is wrong because everything is where is should be. I don't have to be going back and forth between an engine book and car book, trying to hunt down a problem that will most likely be a compatablity issue. And yes, I just pulled the VG out of my Z and am getting the new one in once I get money for some go fast parts. It isn't that bad.

Re: ZTT engine swap! why?
I despise working on VG's... Haha. HATE, I am using HATE correctly here.
And Inline6 is much easier to swap into an Inline4, you have that correct. But I have seen motors such as RB26 in a Zed... Get this one... CA18DET in a Zed (What the hell?)... 1UZ GTE in a Zed... Countless engines. No clue why I even put up with my Zed... But man there is just something about that engine winding up... Haha -Wes

I am new to this discussion but if you have an NA which I do you could not go past the Z1 motorsports stage 3 perf package.
http://www.z1motorsports.com/PDFs/Z1RebuiltMotors.pdf I know its 10g's but that would be one tough NA. and it would be original. I want 400hp from an NA is that too much to ask for? |

Re: ZTT engine swap! why?
Not at all... Non-Turbocharger power is always at your foot... Why not?

Re: ZTT engine swap! why?
that is one good thing about n/a power, it is always there. you don't have to wait for the turbos to spool up.
