Angry 2002 Elantra Exhaust Manifold

Does anyone know where I can find a second hand exhaust manifold (California emission system)? This is a 2002 model. It was just replaced last October 2003 (only 6 months after) and I was told there is again a crack on the manifold so it needs to be replaced for $900! Dealer said is no longer covered by one year parts warranty because I've driven more than 12,000 miles. I know I drive a bit more than normal but I could believe that the parts would wear off that fast either. Moreover, I could not believe the replacement manifold will cost about 10% of the cars current value! If Anyone could lead me to any wrecking parts in California, I would appreciate it very much. Also, if you know anyone who works buys wrecked cars from insurance companies, I would appreciate gettign that info too. Thanks a lot and be careful in driving your Elantra because the car may be cheap to buy but have very very expensive replacement parts.

Your dealership is ripping you off, kinda. They are giving you a good deal on the manifold. It lists for $998.40, plus gaskets. If $900 for parts and labor, thats a good price. However, if you are the original owner, the manifold is covered under the 10yr/100k mile powertrain warranty. The converter itself is covered for 80k miles, but the actual manifold is considered part of the powertrain warranty. If you are the original owner, its covered 10yr/100k miles, if you are 2nd owner, it's covered 5yr/60k miles. Unless you drive a whole lot and have gone over in miles, you are covered. Let us know what happens.

In canada a new part carries a 1 year full replacement warranty, but does not cover labour. Check it out with your dealer, it may be different in the states.

Correct me if I'm wrong but shouldn't this be covered under your bumper to bumper warranty? Part or not it affects other aspects of the car and should be fully covered.
