My Tein's will be on before Friday (12/28/01) ha ha:hehe:. I got my first mod done before 2002. I told them to put it on the 2nd lowest setting at 11 clicks from hardest stiffness. We'll see how it rides and I'll let yall know how I'm riding in Tex. :smoka:

I'd also like to give a shout-out to my dawg Luke a.k.a. ( G22DET ) for hookin dis up. I'll burn a cigarette for ya. :smoker2:

whoaa! you let a shop do your kit? hope you told them not to use an impact wrech on the shaft... kills those teins if you dont assemble it correctly.

hows the ride? congrats.

It's done. I'm on 11 clicks and it is quite firm. It handles great though. How would I tell if they did use an impact wrench and messed up my tein's? Not too sure, but I think I hear the shocks working in the front. Is this normal? I only hear it when I have the music off and everything is quiet.:bandit:

first thing that those impact wrenches messes up is the shaft itself...see if you can rotate the adjustment knob all the way clockwise and then all the way 16clicks ccw. if you can do that, then its probably okay.

you hear it? what kind of noise? like a piston sucking sound? shuooo shuooo type of sound? my NAs dont make any noise at all....which I was impressed by.

I don't really hear it any more, it was the same night I got them. Now everything seems to be perfect. At 11 clicks from hardest, seems like the front is just a tad bit too stiff.

I tried the 6 clicks today, oh mama what a horrible ride - bouncing around like crazy... not good . I'm at 14 now because I know you mentioned it ken, that it's best to "work in" the tein's for 500 miles on that setting. I like the 14 clicks - and after 500 miles, I'll go to the 11 like you have. 6 is just not good for the road.

yah, 6 is waaay too stiff for the streets out here. in japan, most roads are extreme smooth...that's why they recommend those settings...but the damping capacity on these NAs arent that great (especially rebound).

14 is a good starting point to break them in. Id like to use 13 or 12 clicks,but there's one expresway I use frequently that has many dips so thats why Im at 11 to eliminate those fullbumps. im hearing that they're planning to fix that part of the expressway in 2002, so hopefully I can go back to my 13 click setting. 13clicks is night and day from 11 clicks.

I'm pretty satisfied on the 11 clicks. It's gets a little bouncy when the street isn't so smoothe, but for the most part it is nice and tight. I was driving with 3 other people in the car and it still was pretty comfortable. So compare the 11 clicks to the 13 or 14 for me so I know what I'm looking at. I like 11 but am willing to try 13 or 14 b/c you guys did.:smoka:

13 is close to stock ride...but will cause fullbumps. stroke is too short and sus too soft.
