How to make Flatscreen TVs

This is a tutorial on how to make Flat Screen TVs.

First you'll need some clear plastic. As you can see I often use the viewing windows of diecast boxes:

So cut your piece to size (square, rectangle, whatever). Then paint one side gloss black. This is important as it makes the other side even glossier. So flip the painted side to the back and you'll see the paint through the glossy plastic. This makes it look like there is a blank screen.

I use chrome backing for alot of my TVs trim:

You can use whatever you like (I've also used plastic strips painted silver, red, etc). Cut these into size to produce a border for your TV. This will require a lot of trial and error to get a perfectly even border. I reccommend cutting one long strip of chrome backing and then dividing that up. Heres a pic before they get attached:

As you can see I use a radial blade to cut up the backing. Helps keep the cuts clean and neat.

Take your chrome trim (or whatever you're using) and just glue it onto the edges of the black plastic piece. The trim should not be glued onto the side with paint. Here's the end result (on a stand):

Re: How to make Flatscreen TVs

visible,

Ill let this slide because your new, but for future reference, try not to post in topics older thana month or so. The most recent date can be found at the bottom left corner of the last post in the topic. This one was the end of May last year. So its kind of old. Next time you will be flamed pretty bad though.

No worries though! And I like that Cely in your sig.
