TwinTurbo Corolla S

Hey whats up. I have a question for your corolla guys.

I have a buddy with a 2003 Corolla S. It's an automatic. He wants to put a 6 sp tranny from a Matrix in his car. Which Is do-able I guess with some modification.

But the thing that gets me is that he keeps telling me that he is going to twin turbo his car. Not that I dont believe he can do it. Because I know with the right amount of money just about anything can be done. But he doesnt really have money like that. But is it possible to twin turbo a 2003 Corolla S??? If so what do you guys think it would cost? Parts, Labor everything. And im sure that he is going to also have to change parts to make the engine stronger to hold that kind of power if it can even be done.

I told him it would be cheaper to buy a used Supra if what hes worried about is speed. So please tell me what you think. Thanks

my guess would be that it would be expressive to do that. If he was able to od that it would be awesome. Maybe, he should look into something else like the gt-s celica.

He'd have to strenghten all the internals of his engine. from what i've read, the engine would be able to handle 6-7 psi of boost that's it. anything above and his engine might blow up

here are a few good web sites to look at for turbo charging the corolla. which i have heard of one guy that has turbocharged his corolla and has gotten it up to around 220hp but he did alot of custom work to the headers, exhaust, inginition system and many other parts of his car along with a single turbo to achieve that. anyway here are the sites:
http://come.to/helene-and-matti
http://www.corollaperformance.com/Li...ex.html#Toyota
http://www.corollaperformance.com/

these sites have helped me alot. the first 2 sites can be found through the links on the third web site but the 3rd web site has a lot of links to a lot of different coroalla related items. it is the most detailed web site i have found for the corolla.

To turbocharge a *ZZ-FE engine isn't far fetched, but to twin turbocharge it would be an overkill. The turbos would have to be pretty small in order to achieve that, but you really would not gain anything more than using one proper sized turbo based on the HP gains your friend is seeking.

If anything, a single turbo setup would perform way better than a twin turbo setup because the single turbo would spool up better.

If he's really adamant on going twin turbo, then he should sell his Corolla and get himself a Supra TT.

Here's another site to check out:

Good luck,
