Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

Dear Hondalovers,
Most of you, if not all of you, like Hondas because you have never owned another performance car.Lets say you have an RSX Type R with some modifications (filter, exhaust, header,...) and its 250hp. Do you know that it doesnt have more than 230Nm of torque? A stock Nissan Silvia S15 , has 300Nm of torque and produces the same power. If these 2 cars race from 2nd gear rolling , the RSX will need binoculars to see the Nissan which will fly 5 cars in front.
Hondas give the imression of being fast because of their good response to the pedal which comes because of the lightweight flywheels from the factory and their light chassis (DEADLY IN ACCIDENTS!!!).Nothing more. No stiffness, no power. Just good acceleration. After that, THEY DON'T STAND A CHANCE.So don't talk about Fast And Furious shit. This movie was was,is and will be a fucking lie to impress americans who like Hondas. If you want to see real HARDCORE ACTION watch Option,Best Motoring, Hyper Rev videos from JAPAN to see he real street monsters.
Skylines,Supras,Silvias,Rx-7s drifting all 4 wheels with 100mph, and spitting flames big enough to make a barbeque, doing 0-200mph in 20 secs and stop waisting your time with 200hp-stupid-VTEC Hondas!

Wow your an idiot

Look first off its a type S not a type R. 2nd all the stats say that hondas and acuras are constantly some of the safest cars that you can drive within their classes. And screw all the FandF stuff thats all ricers. The rsx type s is the fastest stock 2 liter car so screw whatever cars you just listed cause those are all the highest performence cars on the market. Within its class the car is amazing! So get off this d*** forum if u dont like them. - and just for the record a filter, some exhaust, and some headers are not going to give you 50 hp

Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

In a straight line, its probably a drivers race between the RX-8 and the Type S, but in the corners because of the TCS and LSD, the RX-8 has the advantage. The S2000 will beat the RSX. The RSX will beat the Celica.

Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

Sure, if I could get a Skyline in this country, I probably would. But why are you even trying to compare Skylines and Turbo Supras to an Acura RSX? I can name a bunch of random cars that will blow the doors off every car on your list, but what's the point??? Does that mean the Skyline is junk?
Meanwhile, what does Fast and Furious have to do with Hondas/Acuras, specifically? Saw more of the cars YOU mentioned in that POS movie than anything else. Also, I fail to see how the amount of flames one car can spit has any bearing on performance. Sounds like you are easily impressed by superficial bullshit, eh? Well, I guess we've seen how HARDCORE you are and we will all bow our heads in shame. Thanks for you valuable input.

Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

Props for even racing the cars you lost to. How'd the STI race go? Also, if I know my Teg Type R owners, they wanted multiple rematches....

Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

Carman123 - That much HP and TQ? Even with an Injen/DC/AEM CAI, Jackson Racing/Comptech Race Headers, and an exhaust, you don't get that much hp....that much more than the 10000 Toda engine kit, and most people rarely crack 200 hp. Plus full exhausts usually gain 2-7 hp on the RSX, the muffler shouldn't gain anything, let alone much more. The V2 numbers sound good, and so does the DC (unless its a non-race header). Also, those three mods alone subtracted from the equation means that you had more than 200HP stock, and if that wheel Hp that's not possible. Am I missing something?

Nice kills BTW.

just looked it up, the best personally owned 2.0L RSX has gotten 238.5whp / 157.3wtq, and that's with a big mod list. Not just H/I/E

Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

The stock Acura RSX Type S gets 200 FLYWHEEL horsepower, but the wheel horsepower is around 170.

Plus, 18.8+11+22=51.8hp.

251.8 - 51.8 means that he is getting 200hp. If that is wheel hp, which it probably is, thta's impossible. Plus, the gains of a street legal RSX header is around 2-5hp. Race headers are the ones that give more than 10whp. For the intake, that's still a bit too high. 10-12 would be more accurate. And mufflers don't provide gains over stock, let alone 22 hp, which is more than 4x the gain of a performance exhaust cat-back system.

Off of DC Website.

"It's no secret that the most horsepower per dollar improvement you can do to your Honda or Acura is to replace your stock exhaust manifold with a tuned header system. And a DC Sports dyno tuned and tested header will breathe new life into the performance of your vehicle. This allows you to take full advantage of the power that is all too often hidden away inside your engine. DC Sports is the only after market performance part manufacturer that utilizes CNC machined flanges on all their headers. They have made the investment in CNC machining centers to provide you with the best parts your money can buy. All parts are made in-house so DC can control the quality of their products. DC Sports uses only mandrel bends in the construction and assembly assuring you the most efficient 4 into 2 into 1 design on the market today. DC features a two piece design and CNC machined mounting flanges with O-ring grooved secondary flanges (O-rings included) for a precise fit and seal. DC Sports 50 state street legal headers are designed and tuned to each specific engine application. No "universal" header systems are offered.

With the installation of a DC Sports header, you'll feel a 10 to 14 horsepower gain over stock as well as increased torque throughout the RPM band.

Maxspeed muffler

"These racing mufflers are made of aircraft quality stainless steel. These mufflers feature the most aggressive look and sounds in the market today. Pipes are 2.5 inches within the muffler itself for high flow and are designed to work well with normally aspirated cars as well as turbo cars. These mufflers are not just for show, they produce a whopping 10-12% hp gains on most imports. Turbo cars can expect all the way up to a 15% gain."

As for the 18.8 HP for the AEM v2, that is dyno proved on a RSX Type S.

Other are esimates by the other companies which are fairly accurate. I will be dynoing my car this summer for more accurate numbers.

Those HP figures I gave are an esimated Fly wheel HP output.

Re: what other cars have your rsx type-s beaten?

Oh, flywheel hp. But do you have an exhaust or muffler? Mufflers shouldn't increase hp over stock...and even so the highest exhaust gain (that's been tested by members and not manufacturers) is around 7 or 8 hp.....and for the other dyno proven results, is that from the manufacturer? Because many times they just turn the air conditioning all the way up, turn the desfroster, whatever on so that as much energy gets taken up powering the accesories, so the hp is less for the baseline, then everything gets shut off once they install the part. The Injen SRI advertised a 21hp gain originally, that turned out to be all but true. The header, if it is the race header, is accurate though.

OT, but I never knew AEM owned DC Sports.....
