Unhappy Coolant loss

Hi, I'm new here and I could use some help please.

I have a 1996 Regal 3800 v6 that is losing coolant somewhere. My husband is a very good mechanic but we have been unable to locate where the coolant is going. There is no visible loss but after several days the low coolant warning light comes on and the coolant level is very low. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Re: Coolant loss

check your oil, does the color look distorted? does it look milky? Is so, your intake gaskets, or head gaskets may be at fault.

Thanks,

The oil looks fine. No discoloration or milky look to it.

Any other ideas?

Re: Coolant loss

Your engine is burning it! Remove your throttle body and look inside the intake with a flashlight looking for coolant!

Re: Coolant loss

Your problem is probably in the plastic upper intake. Huge problem with GM 3.8's. They leak at the frt of the manifold behind throttle body. I bet there will be signs of coolant on the frt of the lower intake.
